Cloud-based computers for AI agents
Maritime provides AI entities with various “computing platforms”: sandbox environments, batch processing clusters, as well as desktop and mobile devices. The projects funded by Y Combinator are aimed at developers who are working on creating intelligent agents.
The products are available in several tiers. Agent Boxes serve as permanent workspaces for storing files; they enter a dormant state when not in use and wake up within about one second. The cost is $1 per month for every 2GB of storage space used. One-time sandboxes are designed for executing untrusted or dynamically generated code; these sandboxes are deleted along with the associated data once the task is completed, and the starting price is $0.011 per hour. Swarms enable users to create thousands of sandboxes with a single command, making them ideal for evaluation purposes and reinforcement learning applications. Currently, access to this feature is available via an invitation system only.
In addition, there are Linux desktops (at a rate of $0.12 per hour), licensed Windows Server 2022 desktops (costing $0.18 per hour), and Android smartphones (available for $0.15 per hour). These devices enable the intelligent agent to perform tasks such as viewing screens, clicking, and typing, and users can also take over control at any time. The service is billed based on the total amount of time the device remains active, making it ideal for teams that need the intelligent agent to actually perform software operations.
