Official GLM-5.3 Programming Harness
ZCode is the official development tool for GLM-5.3. It claims to be “simple, fast, and full of immersive elements,” and its main selling point lies in its ability to enable multiple agents to collaborate together to achieve complex goals, rather than requiring users to write code through a question-and-answer format.
The interface is designed in a task-list format: within a single workspace, multiple task strands can be executed simultaneously. For example, the official website demonstration shows three repositories – zcode-website, zcode-desktop, and release-bot – arranged side by side. Behind each sub-task, it is indicated how long it has been running: 2 minutes, 9 minutes, 1 hour, or even 3 days. This design itself clearly illustrates how to use this system: tasks are assigned, and users do not need to monitor them continuously; they can check the results at regular intervals.
The granularity of a sub-task is not simply “writing a function”; rather, it involves tasks like “fixing the bottom sticky behavior of the dialog box during resizing” or “reorganizing the information structure of the settings page groups”. The presence of a “Skills” entry on the left side indicates that this sub-task falls under the category of reusable capability packages.
Currently, the main focus is on dmg files for macOS (Apple Silicon); in addition, there are direct download links available, along with documentation, update logs, and a community support system. The interface can be switched between Chinese and English. Binding to GLM models is a prerequisite for using this platform; teams that are already using Zhipu’s这套 solution find it very convenient. On the other hand, those who wish to use models from other vendors should first confirm whether their models are compatible with this system.
