There are several strict rules that must be followed before printing; let’s go through them first before discussing the functionality.
It is essential to leave blank margins around the code; tools allow for adjustments ranging from 0 to 12 modules. Cutting off these margins during scanning is one of the most common causes of errors. There must be sufficient contrast between the foreground and background—dark codes on light backgrounds work best, while light codes on dark backgrounds may not be readable on some older devices. It is also recommended to place a logo in the middle or print it in very small size, and increase the error correction settings. The size of the code should be estimated as one-tenth of the scanning distance; for example, if the code needs to be scanned from two meters away, its side length should be at least 20 centimeters. The longer the content, the more modules will be required, and thus the larger the necessary size. Finally, it is crucial to create a mock-up based on the actual dimensions and test it on several different phones before going into production—do not rely solely on screen previews.
Website addresses, along with various text options, Wi-Fi connection details (including encrypted username and password information for direct access via QR code), email addresses (with pre-filled subject and body content), as well as quick access links for phone calls and SMS messages are all available. The foreground and background colors can be set independently, and the content can be exported in PNG format (with a resolution ranging from 256 to 2048 pixels) or SVG format. For packaging materials such as posters, SVG format is highly recommended.
There is one more thing that deserves attention: the code generated by this system directly encodes the original text you input. There are no intermediate redirects, no tracking mechanisms, and the code will not become invalid over time. Many free platforms distribute their own short-chain QR codes; however, if those platforms shut down or start charging for their services, the codes printed on packages will become completely useless.
