Open-source observability platform
OpenObserve is an open-source observability platform that integrates logs, metrics, and traceability into a single system. Its purpose is to serve as a alternative to solutions like Elasticsearch and Datadog. It focuses on reducing storage costs; according to official data, it can save approximately 140 times more storage space than Elasticsearch.
Recently, it has focused its efforts on AI applications: it natively supports OpenTelemetry, allowing direct integration with the call chains of large models and agents. This enables users to monitor the delay at each step, the details of each function call, and any errors that occur, thus helping to identify issues such as “why an agent is behaving abnormally.” This solution is ideal for technical teams that are deploying LLM applications in production environments but do not want to incur high costs related to observability tools. The open-source version can be deployed independently; it has received over 20,000 stars on GitHub. There are also cloud-hosted and enterprise versions available, with the cloud versions offering free quotas.
