What is Backmesh?

Backmesh is an open-source backend as a service (BaaS) specifically designed for AI applications. It provides a secure way to call LLM APIs from your applications, without the need to expose private keys or require the use of LLM SDKs. Backmesh offers features such as JWT authentication, rate limiting per user, and API resource access control, all of which contribute to the safe and efficient use of LLM APIs. It also includes LLM user analytics, which help identify usage patterns, reduce costs, and enhance user satisfaction.

How to use Backmesh?

As the gatekeeper of the LLM API, Backmesh requires you to obtain JWT tokens from your application’s authentication provider in order to authenticate requests. Subsequently, Backmesh verifies these requests, enforces rate limits, and regulates access to API resources, ensuring that only authorized users are able to use the LLM API.
