What is HoundDog.ai?
HoundDog.ai is an artificial intelligence-based code scanning tool designed to implement proactive “left-shift” strategies aimed at protecting sensitive data and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. It identifies personally identifiable information (PII) that is disclosed in plain text within logs, files, cookies, and tokens, and tracks the flow of such data when it is integrated with third-party systems. This enables timely detection of violations of data processing agreements (DPAs). The tool offers IDE plugins, hosted scanning services, as well as CI/CD integration options, allowing for the rapid identification of PII leaks and the provision of detailed data mapping information.
How to use HoundDog.ai?
HoundDog.ai can be used while coding through IDE plugins. It can also perform automated scanning in conjunction with source code management systems, and conduct CI/CD integration checks before code merges. It is capable of connecting to GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket, scanning source code, blocking pull requests, and automatically generating actionable comments.
