A desktop application for AI code review that allows users to examine code directly on their local machines.
CodeCrab is a native desktop application designed for reviewing Pull Requests. It learns about your codebase and utilizes AI command-line tools already installed on your computer—such as Claude Code or Codex—to analyze the code alongside its own built-in review mechanisms. It can provide feedback within seconds and offer assistance in making necessary repairs.
The entire process is carried out locally, using your own encryption keys. The code never leaves your computer—which is the main difference between this service and most cloud-based review tools. Currently, it is in beta version and is compatible with Mac computers powered by Apple chips. The installation package includes a demo project, so you can give it a try before integrating it into your own repository. Teams that have high requirements for keeping their code confidential should definitely consider this option.
