The new Parrot
An open-source, free local meeting note-taking tool for Mac.
Introduction
Parrot is a free and open-source Mac application for taking meeting notes. It automatically detects the start of a call, eliminating the need to use any external recording software. Both transcription and speaker recognition are performed locally on your computer, without any audio data leaving your device.
It goes one step further than ordinary recording tools: during a call, it provides real-time response suggestions based on your own documentation. For example, if a customer asks about prices or compares products with competitors, this tool will advise you on how to respond. Even after the call is over, it allows you to further explore the content of previous meetings.
It requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple chip. This product is ideal for sales professionals, consulting consultants, and office workers who frequently participate in online meetings – especially those who value meeting privacy and prefer not to have their recordings stored in the cloud.
