Reviewing documents written by AI in the same way as reviewing PRs.
DotMD is a Markdown reader and editor for Mac, and its most notable feature is the built-in “review” mechanism. Nowadays, many requirement documents, proposals, and specifications are written by algorithms or intelligent systems. DotMD allows you to review these documents in just the same way you would review code merge requests.
The method involves leaving comments on specific sections of the text. Once Claude Code or Codex receives these comments via MCP, they make the necessary changes. Each modification will be reflected in the document as a revision, and you can either accept or reject each of these changes individually. The regular reading and editing functions are also quite comprehensive, supporting Mermaid diagrams, mathematical formulas, code highlighting, version history, full-text search, and PDF export. All the content remains locally on your device.
Reading is free; the Pro version offers a 3-day trial and requires macOS 14 or later. Product managers and technical leaders who frequently need to review specification documents generated by AI will find this very useful.
