An AI assistant that runs offline on your own device.
Off Grid AI focuses on one key aspect: it allows AI to run on your mobile phone or computer, and it can still be used even when you are offline – without the need to register an account.
On mobile devices, users can chat, read documents, ask questions about the content of photos, engage in voice conversations, and create images. On computers, the functionality goes a step further: these systems remember everything that happens throughout the day. For example, during meetings, there is no need to invite the robot into the meeting; it can automatically transcribe what is said. When answering questions, the sources of the information will be clearly indicated. The system can also help you draft responses or fill in login details, but all such actions will only be executed after you give your confirmation.
It is an open-source project that supports five platforms: Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. The basic functions are available for free, while the Pro version can be purchased outright. Those who are particular about privacy and are in need of a personal assistant that “remembers things” for them might want to give it a try, provided that their devices are compatible. It is important to note that the performance of local models is certainly inferior to that of cloud-based flagship solutions.
