The notch on the Mac has evolved into an AI-based status panel.
Enclave turns the notch on the MacBook into a real-time information panel. Simply hover your mouse over it, and you’ll see information such as the currently playing music and its lyrics, the next scheduled meeting, your to-do list, the focus timer, the file temporary storage area, and the clipboard history. When not in use, the notch displays information related to music playback, downloads, AirDrop functionality, volume settings, and battery level.
It has been incorporated into AI tools because it provides developers with a specialized feature: the ability to monitor the operational status of programming intelligences such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor. Once a task is completed or when you confirm its completion, a notification will appear in the notification panel, eliminating the need to switch windows to check the terminal. In addition, it also includes an integrated interface for “asking AI” questions.
It comes with a vast array of functions, and it’s somewhat similar to a “forelock version” of a Swiss Army knife. The basic version is free to use, while the Pro version costs $5 per purchase and requires macOS 14 or a later version. It is ideal for those who use Macs to code and often need to run multiple intelligent agents simultaneously.
