The intelligent agent programming platform developed by Alibaba
Qoder is an AI programming platform developed by Alibaba. In the 2026 version, its focus was completely shifted towards agents. According to the description on its official homepage, “You come up with the ideas, and Qoder will handle the rest of the work.” This represents a significant change from its earlier approach, which relied on “intelligent completion functions combined with dialogue systems”.
The product lineup is quite comprehensive: there are versions for desktops, mobile devices, IDEs, JetBrains plugins, as well as CLI tools. The IDE products focus on providing a comprehensive understanding of code repositories, offering three main usage scenarios: code completion, collaborative coding, and automating entire tasks by delegating them to agents. The desktop version functions more like a task center – on the left side, users can manage sessions and automation processes, while on the right side, they can monitor the progress of tasks being handled by agents.
The mobile app is an aspect of this functionality that is less commonly utilized – it allows users to monitor the progress of agents on their phones, approve critical actions, and issue additional instructions. Once a task is completed, users can directly review and accept the resulting output on their mobile devices. Anyone who has previously entrusted long-term tasks to others should be able to appreciate the value of this feature: after an agent has been working for over ten minutes, it’s simply not practical to keep staring at your computer the entire time.
The official website offers both an international version and a Chinese version. The client software can be downloaded for free, and there are also additional extensions such as the Marketplace and the Enterprise Edition. This solution is ideal for developers who are already accustomed to using programming agents to handle their tasks; however, if you only need a basic plugin, this entire package may seem excessive.
