Cross-project Agent 2D IDE
The 49Agents IDE is a development environment designed specifically for managing multiple coding agents. Its main selling point lies in the fact that it replaces numerous terminal tabs with a single, infinitely expandable two-dimensional canvas. Each agent represents a node on this canvas, and tasks involving different teams, projects, or machines are all displayed within the same view – it is immediately clear who is working on what and where any bottlenecks or delays occur.
The motivation behind developing this tool is quite practical: For those who simultaneously use five or six intelligent agents, the biggest challenge is not writing instructions, but rather switching back and forth between different tabs to determine which process is still active. A two-dimensional layout allows the spatial arrangement itself to serve as a form of memory, thus reducing the mental effort required for this task. The project is open-source on GitHub, and a hosted version is also available for immediate testing. It is particularly suitable for developers and small teams that frequently make extensive use of coding intelligent agents; however, for individual users who only use it occasionally, its usefulness is limited.
