Developer Tools’ Customer Acquisition and AI Search Visibility
Morsa Signals serves a very specific type of person: technical founders who build developer tools and don’t yet have a sales team.
Its core function is to find the first batch of users. You paste a product description or link, and it selects a small group of people who are troubled by this problem based on the developer's profile, code repository activity, and public technical signals. Each person attaches a reason for "why it is suitable" and an opening sentence. For example, someone has just asked for this kind of tool in an issue, or there is a handwritten script in the warehouse that solves the same problem.
The other half is GEO, which is AI search visibility check: see whether AI searches such as ChatGPT and Perplexity can find, understand and recommend your products, while also tracking the market movements of competing products.
The idea is much more restrained than sending mass cold emails, and only goes to a small number of candidates at a time with specific reasons. It is suitable for cold start of the early devtool team, and is of little use for products targeting mass consumer goods.
