Introduction
Being awakened in the middle of the night by police alerts is something that many backend engineers detest greatly. Polylane aims to take over this kind of task: it connects your code repository, infrastructure, and observability data. Whenever issues arise in the production environment, it automatically initiates investigations. Once the cause is identified, it proposes repair solutions in the form of pull requests, leaving it up to humans to review and merge these changes.
It offers ready-to-use integrated versions on the Vercel marketplace, and free trials are available. Currently, it is more suitable for teams with a relatively standard technical stack and comprehensive monitoring data. For projects with complex architectures or incomplete monitoring data, the information that this tool can provide is limited. It would be more appropriate to use it as a frontline operator who is capable of submitting pull requests.
