CharaLab is an AI creation platform dedicated to the concept of “characters”: with just a brief description in text or a reference image, you can create your own original character model, and then bring this character to life by turning it into a video.

There are numerous templates for character design, including 3D characters, anime figures, Q-version representations, pixel art styles, monsters, NPCs, cyberpunk themes, as well as character profile diagrams with multiple-angle views. These tools are particularly popular among those who work in game development, novel writing, or group activities. At the underlying level, these templates integrate image models such as Seedream, Nano Banana, and GPT Image, as well as video models like Wanxiang, Seedance, and Grok Imagine. Additionally, a range of common tools are included, such as image zooming, background removal, hairstyle adjustment, lip-syncing, and face swapping functions.

There is a free quota available. The range of tools offered is quite extensive; however, the quality of some entertainment-related effects is average. It’s mainly useful for generating characters.

Video tools are designed to handle visual elements; the story itself still needs to be developed separately. TVLab has compiled a collection of currently popular short-form dramas and common story tropes (such as coming-back stories, hidden identities, contract marriages, etc.). Each inspiration card includes vertical format storyboards along with visual cues and descriptive text.
