An iPhone journal for recording dreams in a state of half-wakefulness
Dreamlock is a private dream journal for iPhone users. It takes into account a very realistic aspect of the experience: memories of dreams fade away within just a few minutes after waking up, and by that time, you are usually too sleepy to type anything anyway.
Therefore, the entire process is designed to take just “one hand in the middle of the night, ninety seconds” to complete: you simply tap on the lock screen, close your eyes, and utter a few keywords—for example, “snake… my grandmother’s kitchen… the water is rising”—after that, you can go back to sleep. The voice recognition is performed locally on the phone, and no recordings are uploaded. When you wake up in the morning, you will find a dream card drawn in a hand-drawn style: your dream is reconstructed in its entirety, accompanied by illustrations, along with interpretations of the symbols, characters, and emotions depicted in it.
Use Face ID to lock the app – you can start using it for free without registering an account. Anyone who enjoys keeping track of their dreams or is curious about their own dreams might want to give it a try. Just consider the “interpretation” section of the app as an interesting reference source.
