New Godwit

Godwit is an open-source desktop email client that supports macOS, Windows, and Linux. It can connect to any IMAP/SMTP email account.

It comes equipped with an AI assistant called Wit, which is capable of reading emails, generating summaries, translating text, and drafting replies. You can choose whichever large language model you prefer to use. On the interface, the “Summary” and “Translate” buttons are directly located above the main body of the email, making it much easier to handle foreign-language emails as well as lengthy email discussions. The system is designed to be expandable and also offers a Chinese-language interface.

It is ideal for those who do not wish to rely on the web-based services provided by large corporations while still wanting to take advantage of AI for email processing. The software is free and open-source, while the cost of the AI models depends on the specific services you choose to use.
