ExamEye is a Chrome browser extension developed by the Department of Information and Communications at Corvinus University in Budapest and designed specifically for ChatGPT research to analyze browsing usage patterns during exams. The extension carefully measures user activity during the exam, capturing metrics such as focus time, active time, and the URL of the page opened. Google searches and ChatGPT contextual content are also logged.

ExamEye automatically tracks browsing activity during a designated exam period. Once installed, it runs in the background, collecting data on focus time, active time, URLs of opened pages, Google searches, and ChatGPT contextual content. The data collected was then used for research purposes.
