Memory layer for AI agents
Maximem Synap serves as the foundational infrastructure for enabling AI agents to retain “memory.” By default, an agent starts each new conversation from scratch; Synap is responsible for storing and organizing information across different conversations so that it can be retrieved when needed. It also automatically handles details that are prone to errors, such as entity merging and chronological order determination, while distinguishing between memory scopes of various levels.
The official scores are 92% for LongMemEval and 93.2% for LoCoMo, with the P75 retrieval latency in dialogue scenarios falling below 15 milliseconds. It can be natively integrated with over 20 major agent frameworks, including LangChain, LangGraph, and Claude Agent SDK.
It is primarily designed for development teams working on intelligent agent products. There is a free version that does not require card registration, and the paid version is also available for free in the first month; in addition, some of the code is open-sourced. The benchmark scores are determined by the manufacturers themselves; it is recommended to test the system with actual conversations before integrating it into your own applications.
