A web-based writing assistant that doesn't upload to the cloud
Introduction
ShroomPen is a browser-based writing extension. Once installed, you can access it directly from any text input field on any webpage: smart autocomplete, rewriting, grammar correction, and translation—all in one plugin. No need to copy your text into a separate AI chat window anymore.
It uses the context of the current webpage, input fields, and open tabs to generate suggestions, so the responses you write when replying to emails or forum posts are more on-topic. It prioritizes privacy by processing data locally without uploading it to the cloud; you can also integrate your own models or local large language models.
A project by an independent developer; currently free. Ideal for people who write a lot of emails, comments, and support ticket replies in their browser every day.
